Converting Discarded Plastic Into Beautiful Tiles

Bangalore, on an average, produces more than 7,000 tonnes of waste every day. Half of which is all plastic. Starting from your milk packets, carry bags, plastic balls, to shampoo bottles, everything gets dumped in the waste.

Most of the times, people do not even segregate their waste. All this is leading to environmental pollution. Therefore, it is important to segregate, reuse, and recycle.

Swachha Eco Solutions, a Bangalore-based waste management company, has come up with one of its kind plastic recycling method, through which they have been making colourful, reusable tiles.

“Our tiles are a great alternative to cement. They are completely homogeneous, hence can be recycled yet again, after their use. They also come in various shapes and sizes, becoming a colorful and easy solution for people,” said Victoria D’souza from Swachha Eco Solutions.

The process of recycling plastic to make these tiles consists of segregating different plastics, grinding, melting, and finally moulding them into different shapes.
